Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells

Baraboo, Wisconsin

Mike Hughes Architects provided three-dimensional BIM design assistance as well as production architecture on this $186 million hotel and convention center for the Ho-Chunk Indians in Baraboo, Wisconsin. The nearly 1,000,000 square-foot hotel, convention center and casino includes extensive theming based on local environmental characteristics, which serves to complement the native Ho-Chunk imagery throughout.

The project is a 750,000 square-foot addition to a 250,000 square-foot facility with a very compressed design-build schedule. The first opening of new space was within seven months of project kick-off, with complete opening occurring within 14 months. The project included a 200,000 square-foot, 315-room hotel; four themed restaurants; a Grand Ballroom with seating for 1,200 people, state-of-the-art audio/visual capabilities and exhibit space for up to 100 trade show booths; and a 10,000 square-foot lobby that brings the outdoors inside with trees, waterfalls, rocky bluffs and scenic skyscapes.
