Morongo Casino & Resort
Cabazon, California
Mike Hughes Architects provided production architecture on this new $250 million resort casino and hotel for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians on their reservation in Cabazon, California. Offering something for everyone, the 584,000 square-foot hotel and casino provides spa services, a luxury pool with cabanas and water slides, restaurants, nightclubs, and an arcade for kids. Inspired by its location among the picturesque mountain ranges, wind- and water-carved canyons and intense sunshine, Morongo features nature as a primary inspiration to provide visitors with an experience of refreshment and relaxation.
The distinctive 206,750 square-foot, 27-story hotel tower has 272 standard rooms and 32 double bay suites offering spectacular views of the mountains and desert valley. It is topped by two glass-walled stories for its restaurant and lounge and features dramatic laser lighting across the surface of the glass.
The resort offers complete gaming facilities in the grand casino, four full-service restaurants, a buffet, a food-court, a spa with salon, gym, saunas, steam rooms, 25,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting space, six casitas alongside the 2-acre pool oasis and a 1,700-space parking garage.
