Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was a dramatic renovation and expansion of an existing 175,000 square-foot department store into a 3-story, 225,000 square-foot themed-retail environment. The architectural services took approximately one year with construction occurring simultaneously.

In addition to the retail space which had to be completely re-themed, a new check-out area, an aquarium and new boat sales and service center were added to the Harrisburg Mall anchor store. A massive rock structure, complete with a waterfall, 60,000 gallon aquarium and wildlife exhibits dominates one end of a 60 foot high clerestory entry, providing a dramatic focal point for the entire building. Real and faux log columns and rustic decor reminiscent of local, historic architecture, complete the overall esthetic and help make this store a regional tourist attraction.
